Investment Options in India

    Hi,

    Can anyone guide/provide me information on the best short-term investment options in India...I invest in CD every month and hold 2 insurance policies...but would like to make a further investment every month...but not sure where to put a small portion of the amount...

    Appreciate your help...Thanks

    There are many options S7.

    A few safe & risk free ones are:

    1. RD's
    2. FD's
    3. VPF's

    Better venture into politics, then you wouldn't know what to do with your earnings :)

    PPF & VPF - the rates are about 8.7%

    You are right on the surprise part - me & savings- I don't even shave daily :):):) where am I going to save!!!! :rotfl

    If it is small amount then think of some small banks like TMB. Else you have option of investing in MFs, the risk would be similar to bank CD. The other option to invest in corporate FDs

    Dearies, could you please write the expansions also? I am totally new to this savings and would like to know more about it. MF, CD, corporate FD.. seems alienated to me.. :cry:

    CD - Certificate of Deposit
    SIP - Systematic Investment Plan
    FD - Fixed Deposit
    RD - Recurring Deposit

    Short term investment is always from Stocks(if you know how to play)...

    If you don't know, then comes,
    --> RD++ => 9%
    -> FD => 8-9%

    PPF --> 8-9%...But for long term.. u cant with draw few years.

    for short term like, 3-5 %, Buy Govt bonds like REC or Infra Bonds etc... Check Sptulsian Website for detailed analysis for new..
