Hi,
An interesting thread. Good experiment u have done..Usually i do make a list before i shop, even though i pick up things which r not in the list. Another thing is here in tanzania fortunately or unfortunately we don't have such huge malls.. so u don't feel like buying so many unnecessary things..

I can actually try out ur experiment when i go to india for vacations.. Thats the time i become a real shopoholic.. thanks for posting ur experiment.

Cheers,
sujithra

It is very difficult for me to relate to this post.
Being raised in a middle class family, I am trained to think 10 times before I buy anything :))

I actually hate clothes shopping. Can you believe it?

Good experiment.. I too am a compulsive shopper.. i keep pestering my husband to take me out to shopping.. He asks what do you want to buy.. i say anything which catches my fancy..

But we both being very busy with our jobs during the week, we spend most of our weekends relaxing or playing with our daughter.. So dont really get the time to shop..

One more thing is: i can control my spendings to a minimum but while shopping for my daughter, i tend to splurge.. Any tips on how to control this?

I have to regularly buy clothes and accessories for her as she out grows her clothes very quickly, even though i buy 1 size larger for her...

hello,
for saving ideas i suggest one thing is make one excel sheet in which u give some budget for month expense before start month . then start calculating with your shopping every day . pl keep in mind make budget which is not so tight or not so loose even . as every person have mind set so i tell like this . if u make tight budget and expense ie necessary u will not follow budget afterwards so pl keep in mind.
for grocery and daily uses household things keep a day fix to buy . and other things like cloth and things which u need sometimes keep one day in month for that . so u need not to go out more and you can't attract by things.
for cloths and accessories u first make budget before u leave home. so u can manage your budget as well as money and even time also.

Hi,
I am not a shopaholic. Now a days watching the gas prices we cut down our trip
to shops. We go only if it is necessary. Further I won`t buy too much clothes
even to my toddler kid also. Because they are growing up and the good dresses
may be unfit in a short period of time.
