Lalu's fifth budget

hi all,

This railway budget is lalu's fifth railway budget....some of the highlights....(though there were too many protests on the new stations and trains allotted..

lots of new trains...(and you had to see lalu reading the names of places.... even the speaker was laughing....)

Again railways is in the green...good profits.
50 percent concession to aids patients
50 percent concession to senior woman citizen earlier it was 30.
new coaches in rajdhani and satabdhi.
new toilets...(laloo ji i think this should be the highest priority...i think he has to travel once/twice as aam janta to have the experience.)
Stainless steel coaches from FY10 likely to benefit steel companies .... JSW Steel, Jindal Stainless, Tata Steel, Texmaco..many more..(let us keep a watch??)..
more spending on infrastructure
Container Corporations ( CONCOR ) to set up 8 Depots-- check out container corp at the sensex..
5 pc reservation for women in railway jobs
Rlys to be linked by call centres by 2009Online control of trains within 2 years
Planning smart card based ticket system Connectivity to Mundra likely to benefit Mundra SEZ, Tata power, Reliance Energy. (keep watch on mundra guys lot of activities in that area..)
CCTV, metal detectors to be installed in all stations.
CFL`s to be used in order to encourage power saving
Coach factory to be set up in Kerala, Kerala Government has given 1000 acres land for its development
Railways to provide escalators at 50% of the railway stations
Sleeper fare cut upto 5% across the board, Re 1 discount to all fares upto Rs 150
AC I fares to cut by 7%, AC II by 4% and AC III by 3%

I was just glancing thru the Budget highlights.. and thought of opening a thread and there you go!! anyways thanks for posting..
Seems like yet another aaam admi budget.But Lalu is getting too crazy about laying a railway line between his and Rabri's village! haaa.. haa..

It is a aam admi's budget..thank god he did not think about his sambandhi's and his relatives when approving new links and routes..

hmm yeah.. a satisfactory budget.. railways is improving fast.. the plan size has increased from 11,000 crores to 30000 crores in the last 4 yrs
hope this continues.. may be we can lay a railway line linking laloo's and rabri's place to cheer him up

They have to increase the security,clean toilets,good food..

I read in the papers today a statement by Lalloo that railways is like the cow, if you milk it too much, it will affect it, so milk it with limitation....!!!

It is a very mediocre budget, we have come to expect from him.
