Wink The South African Connexion - Jumbos

I thought that the humble SA jumbo deserved some fame on the world wide web. No its not a jumbo jet but the edible gulaab jamun fondly called jumbos/ jumboos.
I captured my mum as she made these recently. This is the normal shape here and I was intrigued that in India it is mostly round. The variations are in the recipe (some contain semolina/ soji), colour, some are rolled in dessicated coconut BUT the shape is the same - oblong!
