Default A small tip to store Veg. in Fridge for a long time

Hi all,

I am storing Veg. in fridge for 2 weeks to 4 weeks freshely.
I want to share with u all .

Here in my place we won't get Inidan veg.. for getting Inidan grocery we have to go min..45 miles.

so I used to store like this.

To store green chillies
1. Wash it & dry it for some time on a cloth or paper
2.Remove the stems.
3.Wrap it in a Sof tissue paper, & keep in a air tight container (or) any polyethene bag.
4.S o that we can store it for 1 month

For Tomatoes,Papdi(chikkudu kaya),ladies finger,Cocccinia(Dondakaaya),
Goover(goru chikkudu) ,.etc., wash & dry.
To store this veg in fridge wrap it in A soft tissue & keep in a polyethene cover.

NOTE:- REMOVE VEG. FROM FRIDGE WEEKLY ONCE , WIPE IT WITH DRY CLOTH OR TISSUE DRY FOR 1/2 HR AGAIN WRAP &STORE IT. SO fRESHELY U CAN USE TILL 1 MONTH

For karela u can frozen it, Wash karela & let it dry for some time.
chop it what ever shape u want, keep in Ziploc cover or polyethene cover.
& I used to frozen Coccinia,goovar also.
I used to store some Indian leafy veg also .. like Thotakoora, Gongura.
While using this frozen veg..keep in Microwave for 1 or 2 mins & use it.

I think this will help some people whoever won't get Inidan veg.. like us.

I am happy to share these with u all.
Thanku IL
Bye Suneeta

For cilantro:-
Wash it ...Drain the water.
Wipe & dry for 1 to 2 hrs on a cloth.

Talking Quick & Easy cooking??

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is doing great! Im not sure which forum to post this, probably we may need a General Discussion forum under Recipes section?..

Anyway, my question is what do u do to make ur cooking easier? Like What do u do to prep and also Im looking for quick & easy recipes.. I know there are lot of recipes out here from Mrs.CV and other people.. Please point to me which are all much quicker to do.

I would love to watch Indianized version of 30mts cooking by RachelRay if anyone broadcasts that.

Any suggestion please..

Default easy cooking

Hi Selvi,

How r u and baby boy? Here r some things u can do to make ur cooking easy n quick..........

whenever u get time make ginger garlic paste and store it.
use tomato puree instead of tomatos.make puree n store it.(otherwise u can get readymade puree frm market).
If u r working u can made pastes on weekends.
keep boiled potatos in ur fridge so that when ur lil champ is not in mood to let u go for cooking then u can use that.
boiled potato curry and dry boiled potato dish can b made in 5 minutes.

u can add these potato in any dish like u can add with brinjal, peas, capsicum and cabbage.potato will not take time to cookand brinjal, cabbage, capsicum and peas takes little time to cook.(fry these in some oil ,mix wd tadka n potato n ur dry dish is ready in no time)
Even u can keep ur seasoning(I m not sure word is right)means tadka ready . Make it in big quantity n store it.U can make ur dals quickly by adding this.
just boil the dal and mix this tadka in that.

hope I m of some help.
