1/4 cup milk

METHOD:

  • In a large mixing bowl stir together all purpose flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  • Take another bowl and mix together melted butter milk egg and meshed bananas.
  • Now add the banana mixture into the flour mixture until thoroughly blended.
  • Be careful not to overmix.

I made this a couple times recently....it was very very good. It is not a long keeper but is fabulous served right out the oven. The bottom comes out sort of like biscotti with hot steaming plums on the top.

German Plum Cake

1/2 c butter (about 125 g)
1/2 c sugar (125 ml)
2 eggs
1 c (250ml) flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 t. almond extract
1/2 c slivered blanched almonds
Purple (tart) plums to cover top (4-5)
1/2 c sugar
1/2 t. ground cinnamon

Mix/cream butter with 1/2 c sugar. Beat in eggs and extract. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder. Add to mixture. Butter a 9"x9" pan and put batter in it. Cut the plums in half, remove pits and put cut side up covering the batter. Mix remaining sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over the top. Squeeze some lemon juice over the plums. Bake 375F for 40-45 mins. Serve hot.

If you use a nice baking pan it looks good served at the table. This is very good with hot coffee or chai.

Dear friends,

y'day made this banana-chocolate muffin. the recipe was given in the tissue box that i buy for my son (it always has some picture to paint, some craft idea, this time a recipe). it was very easy to make (also for my son) and tasted very good. so sharing with you.

to make 29 mini-muffins + 6 normal sized muffins (i made mini muffins so the kids will not waste... you can make only big sized muffins).

90g whole-wheat flour
100g maida (all-purpose flour)
1 1/2 tsps baking powder
a pinch of salt
70g chocolate chips
2 eggs
80 ml (1/3 cup) sunflower oil (or any vegetable oil without strong smell)
100g raw cane sugar (this will give a very mildly sweet muffin. if you want sweet muffin use normal white sugar)
3 large bananas, very ripe

Line your muffin tin with paper muffin cases or grease with butter.

Pre-heat oven to 180 deg C.

Mix together the flours, salt, baking powder and chocolate chips in a bowl.

In another bowl, first beat the eggs lightly. Add the sugar, oil and beat till well combined. Now mash the bananas using fork and mix to the egg-sugar-oil mixture using a spoon to combine well.

Add the flour mixture to this and mix well.

Spoon the batter into the muffin cases and bake for about 20 minutes or until it is baked well.

NOTE: If you use mini-muffin tin then it'll be ready before 20 minutes. so keep an eye.

Latha

hi sabari,

are you sure margarine contains eggs? to my understanding it's only a plant-based fat often used as a butter substitute. you can check it out here: What's in a margarine or spread?

i think you got confused between margarine and mayonnaise
