Default Traditional Poondu kanji

hello members,
Here i'm giving the most traditional kanji of trinelveli district. This is purely of medicinal value and taking this once in a month will solve most of your gas problems.

Poondu kanji:

Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup
Garlic - 1 cup
Methi seeds - 1 tsp
Saarana root - 2 tsps
(This you can get it from siddha or naatu marunthu stores. Blend it in a mixer and store in freezer)
Raw milk - 1/2 cup
water - 3 cups
Murungai leaves - handful (optional)

Method:
Take rice, garlic, methi seeds in a pressure cooker. Take the saarana powder in a small cotton cloth, make it a bag and put along with the rice . Add 3 cups of water and cook well ( 10 mins).
Open cooker, remove the saarana bag, add raw milk ,murungai leaves and stir well. Simmer for 5 minutes and serve it hot with coconut thovayal.
P.S - If you could not get saarana root , no problem you can skip that.

regards
karthiga.

Rules to follow:
This poondu kanji is always taken as breakfast only.
Drink only warm water after having it.
Do not add tamarind with any of your menu for the whole day. If necessary you can add tomatoes instead.
