garam masala powder

i am quite fed up with my own garam masala powder. could everyone tell me the ingredient u r using for ur own garam masala powder? i would like to make lamb dishe with a different taste.

dear huma, this recipe is frm sanjeevkapoor.com .hope this will help u Garam Masala Veg | Hot | Indian Method Dry roast all the ingredients. Cool and grind to a fine powder. Cool and store in airtight containers. Ingredients Serves 1-2 Star anise 6 Black cardamoms 2 1/2 tsps Black peppercorns 10 inch sticks Cinnamon 1 tbsp Cloves 8 Green cardamoms 1 gm Mace (javitri) 4 tbsps Coriander seeds 3 tbsps Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp Nutmeg (grated) 1/2 tsp Salt

You have not mentiones what all u put in ur garam masala.I use my mom's recipe. I put equal portions of green cardamom, black cardamom. peppercorns and caraway seed. It comes out well and can be used in everything. tastes really good. it can be used in making kababs and veg dishes also and they taste great

I can't say what its name is in tamil cuz i don't know tamil but it looks like cumin seed (zeera) only that it is darker as in- black. hope that helps
