Default Tips for Packed Lunch

Hello Ladies,
I pack lunch for my hubby everyday.I have a feeling whether i can squeeze a balanced diet in the tiffin box.Its challenging.I usually make Variety rice(for 2 days),chapathi(1 day),NV (1 day) and south indian meals other days.
For snack i pack apples, jaggery based sweets, biscuits,Baby carrots.

Can u ILites suggest a balanced menu ?What do u pack?I use tupperware lunch box to pack. What do u use?

Please share.

Hi Supriya...
I also pack my husband's lunch everyday. since we are from hyd, we eat chapati for lunch everyday. So basically I pack a curry (VEG OR NON) with Chapati's. Once a week I'll pack fried rice(any other rice) and pasta another day. I think u are packing a pretty well balanced lunch. However just one suggestion if ur husband warms his lunch in the MW then don't pack it in Tupperware. You can buy ceramic or glass bowls with lids and use those for lunch. Plastic shouldn't be used too much in the MW due to health concerns. Happy eating...

Hi Supriya.

I bought these two bowls with plastic lids at Wal-mart. I don't remember the brand, sorry. I always tell my husband to not to put the lid in the MW and to cover the food with a paper towel. You should find the glass bowls in the dishes section (kitchenware) at any store. Hope u find it...

Lemme hunt for it..I have asked this query coz hubby feels tired and dull at the end of the day.So i have a feeling its because of work pressure or lack of nutrients.I encourage him to eat dates. But iron rich food is difficult to sneak in.

Hi Supriya,

I too pack lunch for my husband. He will heat it in MW in office. But I use to pack in hot pack box. If you have one glass or ceramic plate in office it will be easy to heat the lunch. It is bore to handle glass tiffen boxes. what do you say?

I used to pack one sambar or kuttu rice and one curd rice. One fruit and pickle for his lunch. In summer I will keep cucumber or carrot raitha also. Hope this will help you.

Hi desiprincess,

May I know how you pack chappathis for lunch? I want to give it to my kid for lunch. But it becomes either hard or soggy.

Thanks!
