Hi
I pack lunch for my kids and sometimes for my hubby too. Since v r vegeterian i usually pack cheese sandwiches for kids and a cucumber and tomato with green chutney on a sandwich for my hubby. alternatively I pack chappatis too. For the kids i usually I make a chappati , add cheese and some tomato ketchup , roll it and pack it with a foil. I do the same packing for my hubby but with some vegetables as a filling.

Hi ladies,
I purchased Pyrex brand glass lunch box from walmart..its good.I think reheating in MW with little sprinkled water will make chapathi softer.
Suggest more ideas friends.

Hi Inimai,

I usually pack chapathis for my hubby for lunch. There are 2 ways to do it.
I put curry/sabji in a microwavable tiffin, and then out chapathis in a ziplock, and he heats it up in a microwave, but not too long as we noramlly heat the curry. Its perfect and no hassles at all.
Second method is, u can put the sabji/filling in the chapathi and roll it up like a Frankie, I see kids enjoy this. That way no need to even heat it up, just make sure the filling is dry.

For Lunch :

Mon:Subrolls with Boca patties in it (also with olives and avocados)
Tue: Rotis+ sabji (roti in the aluminum foil)
Wed: Lemon rice+ Aaloo

Friday: Eat out

I pack yogurt for his lunch every day along with the dishes.

Supriya, sorry for stepping in late. I tried to send mine when you posted it first, but there was some error.

Hi Supriya,
You always come up with nice topics and keeping ourselves without FB to ur post is difficult......
We prefer a light launch which is a little less in calorie as we both prefer light meals during work hour to avoid dozing........so, I alternate 5-6 dishes.......
Mon: 1 Egg Roll with vegetable filling.
Tues: Vegetable noodles/pasta
Wednesday: Veg sandwiches or veg patties
Thursday: 1 Pancake with some curry
Friday: Poha.....
Sometimes I prepare Idli/Masala Dosa or veg Khichdi but these are once a while.......

And one bowl of salads and 2 fruits everyday for each of us.......
We used to have a mid-day snack of either a fruit or salad (I like salad without dressing.......just put dsome black pepper and little salt.)

We both use MWable Martha Stewart Launch Boxes which are plastic......but in the office we have glass plates to heat the launch....
I had Pyrex Launch boxes.....they are really heavy and as I have to commute by subway....I prefer light weight on my shoulder......
Regards.

Hi,
Mostly i prefer to pack Phoolkas(with ghee applied on it) or aalu parathas with a side dish (with gravy) and curd or raitha and seasonal fruits or dates.

sometimes i prepare Dhalia (wheat rawa) vegetable upma or pulav with curd or raitha and fruits or dates.

for a change i pack dry idli fry or mango baath (only in the season) with curd and fruits.

Lakshmi.
