One trick many people here (USA) use is to put the drink (juice, ice tea, etc.) in a plastic bottle like maybe small Bisleri bottle and freeze it the night before. Over the course of the morning it will melt but make a natural refrigeration for the juice. Low cost option. Also you won't need to worry about your kid losing a more expensive thermos bottle. You can also use the bottle as an ice pack to keep foods from spoiling in the heat.

An update on food bottles: I just bought over at Walmart a really nice steel vacuum bottle (Thermos) which was marked down. I got it for $12 and it is $38 list on the website. It can be used for either cooked soup/dal or it also has a pour top if you want to use it for tea/coffe/juice. Has two large cup/bowls and a detachable over the shoulder carry strap. I don't know if this mark down is system wide on east coast Walmart but you might keep your eyes open if you go by.

On this bottle its tallish but it would work. I bought a Thermos brand bottled as per the above link. I have tried a number of bottles over the years and I have found that cheap bottles are a waste of money. My opinion. The only cheap bottles that I have found to be good are the mainland Chinese ones with the glass liner and the flowers outside. They are for liquids but keep the heat 12+ hours. The only problem is those bottles are very delicate. The steel bottles if they are good ones will keep the heat for 6-8 hours. The Thermos site has ratings on each bottle then shop for cheaper prices from those on their website. I was amazed the bottle I just bought was so far under MSRP.

Hi Malasripad,

thank you for ur info. It is very useful. I use Lock & Lock for Lunch boxes, i always doubt whether it is good to reheat the food eventhough i wont do much. After seeing your post i quickly checked by box, it has 5 inside the triangle i am happy after that..

Thanks
