Yes Krithika,
I do use PYREX and satisfied. I was just thinking of all in one box rather than using single containers

Rithi,

The laptop style lunch boxes are used by kids/adults. Even my son takes this lunch bag to school alternating with another bag that has 2 compartments.

Of course all these are available in Walmart, Target and even Walgreens at reasonable rates.

Thanks Krithika,

I thought $35 is crazy for a lunch box. I don't have any school-goers at home so was not aware of that until now.

Rithi,

Here are the lunch bags used by my DH and children.

All these cost less than $10. Some even come with a free plastic box.

The laptop lunchbag has a front pocket where we can keep spoons,hand-sanitizer etc. The water bottle comes free with it. :)

In the black 2 compartment lunch bag, there is a small front pocket. You can see from the zips as to where these compartments and pockets are.

We can easily place the pyrex glass containers in them without worrying about breaking or leakage. As always, better to place paper towels at the bottom of these compartments before placing the actual lunch boxes to avoid staining.

Wipe them with a damp paper towel and then with a dry one everyday to ensure they are clean and leave them open for sometime so that they are also free from odours.

Cheers
Krithika

Hi Krithika,

So, we have to buy the lunch 'box' separately , pack the food in the box & place the box in these bags, right ?
Are these lunchbags insulated to keep the food warm for awhile ?

Presently, I'm using just Rubbermaid plastic dabbas & my hubby refuses to take more than 2 boxes [ one for the main, rice & one for veg.] ...
Glass containers are heavy to carry as he travels by bus & LRT.

Plus he doesn't bother to reheat ----- how many ever times I tell him to ! Rant

Thanks.

Hi Grace,

You are right. We have to buy the lunch boxes separately and pack the food inside these lunch bags.

And yes, these are insulated (that's what it says on the label) and keeps the food warm for sometime.

But, during cold weather, it is better to reheat the food during lunchtime.

And yes, my dh is the same..he doesn't reheat the food.
