Exclamation Spending on Birthdays of kids

Hi all..
I just wanna ask u all something... Is it good to spend a lot of money in our kids b'day parties.. I hve seen many of my friends spending lot of money in their children b'day... and also wasting a lot....
We invite lot of people.... also spend a lot in decorative things....We have lot of fun.. and the child is also happy...

But what I feel is..Why cant we spend that money on the needy and poor ...

We can go to a orphange atleast on that day and we can spend something in such a way which is useful for them... ...

What do u think .........???

Take Care Keep Smiling

dear brindha k,

Very good thought. I do accept your views. It is no doubt a waste of money. But we take this as an opportunity to meet our friends and relatives.Even the kids enjoy a lot.
The very next day onwards,my dd would start talking about her next birthday.

We also have the habit giving money to needy people.

It is just a get-together.so nothing wrong.

Well said brindha
i too accept your views. but it is left to the individuals and their state of mind. as kamala says it is not wrong..but the sad part of the event is suppose a child invited is from a lower middleclass the child feels a lot that her/his brithday should be celebrated in the same way and insist his/her parents to do so.. this happened during my son's 2nd birthday as we did not celebrate his first birthday so we had organized the traditional pooja and as well as a cake party. after this some of the children who were not used to such celebrations wanted to have but unfortunately their parents were not in a position to organize one for them. it gave me a thought and then on wards we restricted the birthdays to only choclates distribution.

hi all..
ThanKs for sending ur views.. Yup.. its a good.. to spend some money to the needy .... and as poonam said... some people.. do both.. that really agood job..:)

I think by doing this.. we can show our children the other side of the world... also... and this may cultivate kindness, helping tendency, caring and sharing with others.. and many many good things in their mind and heart in their childhood itself..

ThanX a lot...
