Very tough situation being a step mom.

my dear friend,u r a mother now so be strict like a mother.if there are some bad qualities in kids a mother's duty is to try to change them.
tell this to ur husband & his family too that u intend to be mother in true sense, so u has equal right to love & scold.

My one cent, put in all your efforts to " develop a trustworthy relationship with the daughter " - IT IS NOT EASY, BUT POSSIBLE.- takes a lot of time.



From what i've read, it looks like everyone , including your husband is scared that "YOU" will separate the girl from the family. Prove them wrong!

a small tip - try doing a lot of talking to her, probably that is what she wants. !!
