Why did I leave IL and why I came back?

Hi friends,

This the question I kept asking myself. I was a bit upset the day I decided not to be a part of IL. I decided to stop writing just because of some silly reason.By doing so I let go a tiny part of me,a part which belonged here. Everything is fine,no hard feelings.My life is going on very well. But definitely something was missing.My husband would ask me ,what happened to IL?not writing any more?For a few days I would be very angry and say NO.But as time went by I realised,some little thing was missing,for sure.


It was my choice to be here and my decision to leave. Many may ask why come back then?I realised that my leaving IL was noone's loss except mine. I am blessed with good things in life, like a good family and good friends.But by walking out of IL ,I stopped doing what I enjoy the most,and that is connecting to people. I missed the opportunity to know many people and to make new friends.For me IL is like a fantasy world where I can live the way I imagine life to be.And is not life beautiful? In fact, I had even started to make a few friends here in my previous short IL life.When I started off in IL,many friends came forward to wish me on my birthday and comment on my jokes and threads. I enjoyed every bit of it and thank them so much for that.


I missed reading many interesting stories,missed wishing many people ,share their sorrow or joy or thoughts. I deprived myself of friends who could have been a part of my life. My kind,compassionate words could have soothed someone or cheered someone up.I could have shared valuable information or simply could have made someone laugh.


Or simply, I could have done one more routine work of spending half an hour typing away in IL. So, the loss was entirely mine.

I wish to come back.So my dear friends,if you remember me,please comment.I would love to hear from you all.

I have not known you before dear.. but your post was so touching....

Yes we expereince some hard and depressed times when we dont get much feedbacks or responses... One day or the other surely everybody writings will be recongonised.. Every body who writes here are good writers....

But never ever forget dear your friends are here always for you . .... As you have said.., IL is a beautiful garden full of fragrant and lovely flowers called friends....

This site is one of the greatest outlet for us I think.. we can share,care,wish, learn new things,give sugesstions,make friends, understand many things ,smile sometimes cry too....

Im happy you have come back again dear...

I wish to live in IL till my fingers go numb or when I could not type..

am pretty sure that u will come back again. b'cos quitting from IL cannot be done so easily. it is the only outlet for most of the ladies here. the problems that cannot be shared with our close relatives incl husbands r shared here. it also relieves from the stress and worries for most of our friends here.

Though I have never interacted with you before, your thread title drew me here to answer you.
I am not going to ask you, what made you leave IL. Now that you are back, that explanation is uncalled for.
Perhaps, you left
because of lack of time
because a post in a reply to you was not appreciated by you
etc etc - there can be so many reasons.
But remember that by interacting in such a large community, we develop so many interests, learn so many things which we have never bothered all these days, get answers to so many of our doubts, not to forget mentioning about getting a large circle of friends globally.

Welcome back to IL. It is nice that you reversed your decision. As you rightly said, whether it is a popular contributor to IL or a person who posts occasionally, the loss is entirely to the person who chooses to withdraw. IL is a beautiful community. We must remember that most of us who contribute here are multi tasking. So it would be unfair on our part to expect to get a lime light for every article/thread we contribute. Yes, there are a few writers whose works are exceptionally good and thus draws a lot of attention and praise. That should not restrain us from contributing what we want. IL has provided us a platform to air our views and whether we benefit from it or not there are a host of people out here needing help, solace and soothing words. If we can be a cause for their getting back their lost happiness, that would make life worth it.
