A Mother's Plight

by satchitananda on 8th May 2012 at 06:33 PM
A loud plaintive scream rent the air
The pain was much more than she could bear
The life that within her had barely begun
Was not one that could be called "my son"

A daughter was growing inside her
A replica of herself as it were
This little angel she wished in her arms to hold
On this idea hubby and in-laws were not sold

Leave me alone, let my child be born
From begging and pleading she was utterly worn

Here Yesterday, Gone Today, Forgotten Tomorrow

by satchitananda on 12th April 2012 at 06:51 PM
Below is a picture I received as a forward by e mail today. Unfortunately the system does not allow me to choose where to place it. So please scroll down, see the picture and then read further.

Womens' day has come and gone
Let us look at facts, of romantic notions shorne
We claim independence, we are liberated we say
But facts point out the other way

Take a look at the news every morn
At the injustice by womankind borne
Raped by strangers, by kith and kin
Starved by parents, thrown

"Thank God it was me"!

by satchitananda on 9th March 2012 at 11:48 AM
“Why me”, she cried. “Why me”?
Her child had just died
“What did I do”?
There was no reply.

Her father lay ill on the hospital bed
It was not long before they pronounced him dead
Of a disease much afeared
Life had once again taken away someone who was so dear

God, you made my father suffer, please spare my mom
Let no ill health near her come
God laughed, kept her mother in good physical health
But illness

Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie

by satchitananda on 5th March 2012 at 11:33 AM
Somethings in life just don't make sense. We live in a democracy, where there are laws and regulations, but the way they are implemented some times makes me wonder at the logic or the blatant lack of it on the part of the administration.

I am talking about this, because a friend recently commented on facebook about the way the government functions. As it happened he touched a raw nerve of mine - he mentioned the word "helmet".

I have been riding a two wheeler
