Hi Dipa, We migrated to Canada from the Gulf, 6 months back. We didn't know anybody here and we landed in Toronto , as it has more job opportunities. During our 3 week stay in Toronto, we finished the formalities like SIN card, PR card , Driving license etc. Don't worry, on landing itself, they will direct you to the appropriate counter for new immigrants . They are very very friendly and helpful authorities at the airport itself. BowThey will even give you a neighbourhood map of the place you will be staying !! No idea about medical transcriptionists, but any job must be prepared to struggle initially 'cos they do not even glance at your CV if you don't have the ' Canadian Experience ' !! But you can register at the different employment centres, YMCA , online like monster, workopolis etc. Opportunities are there -- it all depends on luck and how long you are mentally prepared to wait for the right job. If you can come here with a job, nothing like it !! You can apply online thro' monster, workopolis etc. and get some contacts at least, so that you can personally meet them once you are here. That is what most people whom we know are doing. Luckily husband got a job in Montreal [ he is in IT ] so we shifted and are presently staying here. Ottawa is just 2 hrs. from here. When are you planning to come here, by the way ? Don't worry Dipa, we landed here without a single clue and were very very smoothly guided by the govt. staff here. They are extremely good !! :clap They will willingly help you and address all your concerns smilingly ..... By the way, my hubby is also from Coimbatore only -- Ramanathapuram. Where are you from ? IF you need any more info./detail do not hesitate to mail me Best wishes for your move, Grace.
Dear Grace Thank you very much for the reply. I've sent u a mail. Thanks once again for sharing your experience. Regards' Dipa
