Dreams of your future married life.

Hi Ladies;

I think most of us here dreamed about our soul mate and how our married life should be before the knot was tied.
Have you? Would you like to share your dreams? Have you got your beloved the way you thought he should be or is he quite opposite?

I guess, i am the first one to reply you, yes, i guess every girl dreams about her life partner befroe marriage, so i too had lots and lots of dreams about my prince charming, but all went in vain when i reliases, that my dreams stayed as dreams, in reality it was completely different.

He is ok now, i had dreamt about a prince who would love me for what i am and take care of me and fulfill all mydreams, make love to me, understand me, protect me, and take care of me like a baby.

But in reality non of them happende, he turned to be an MCP, so i guess now u can see what i must be going thru.

Marriage is the biggest mistake that i made in my life, that's what i feel, right now.

hmm i really did not dream about marriage before but when i used to see my friends or cousins and their married life ..i wanted a person who really loves me and cares me and respects my feelings and also my parents. and YES i am really lucky to have all these qualities in one person.

I used to have colorful dreams about marriage. More along the lines of Bru and Titan watch advertisements where husband and wife are really romantic and surprise each other and always in love....

But rude shock, from day 1 of our marriage, we have been fighting and it took 5 years to actually cool down and understand each other and now we are good.

So having minimum expectations is the key. And in my dreams I didnt even stop to think that there will be inlaws LOL ... so all the more shock.

My uncles were typical MCPs. Actually this is what I saw growing up except for my dad. So, as for me I never expected my future hubby to help me in anything. I used to think men are all like what I saw so better get used to expecting someone like that though in my heart of hearts wanted someone better.
To my pleasant surprise my hubby is the person I dreamed of. Though his and my ideas DON'T match always but at least he understands I feel it in a different way.

My in laws to my surprise are also less interfering. Would I have tolerated if they were not is again another question. Anyway they were not in my dreams either.

As a normal gal i dreamt of my hubby.I just thought any person who is not like my dad who did not understand my mom and living seperately now.he used to spend lavishly without caring of his daughters.
I just dreamt of a person who can understand my feelings that's it.
but to my surprise i got the man who likes more than anyone in the world.he cares for me, my mom, my feelings,my family and wat not.I never knew my life would be such a beautiful one after marriage.he is always beside me now.
as adara said my inlaws interfere very less..and my FIL replaces the place of my dad.I am lucky to have him.

Nice thread! Even I did not have any expectations before getting married! But to my surprise my hubby was a lot more caring and supportive than what I had thought.

Keeping less expectations from the other person always makes life simpler at times...

Actually, I dreamed more about my future career and what I wanted to be when I 'grew up' that I hardly put any thought into marriage or what I wanted in a life partner! Really, I didn't have any idolization of my future husband or wedding. But I've ended up 'ok' in the marriage I have, so, I'm happy.
