    dear shikha,
i am from HP (kangra).in our marriages also younger sister of the bride used to read shiksha.sadly, this tradition seemed to be dying.even on my marriagr 6 yrs back it was not read(i do not have a younger sister)
as far as i remember it is usually one page long, written in hindi but can be sung or recited in local language.its usually rhymes & depits a girls life before marriage ,the void she is going to leave in family but the love & respect she will get in her new family.it ends with request to the jija ji to let her visit them often.
usually it is written in red or green & framed.
