hi all i think everyone is aware abt the shiksha read in a wedding..if not,il tell u.c its a kind of poem ,(very emotional)which is read in a north indian wedding frm the bride's side at the time of feras.mostly it is read by the bride's sister to show their love as she is going to depart.so now after a couple of months my sis is getting married and im unable to manage it..would u please post it if any one of u hav it.it would b very nice of u.
dear shikha, i am from HP (kangra).in our marriages also younger sister of the bride used to read shiksha.sadly,this tradition seemed to be dying.even on my marriagr 6 yrs back it was not read(i do not have a younger sister) as far as i remember it is usually one page long,written in hindi but can be sung or recited in local language.its usually rhymes & depits a girls life before marriage ,the void she is going to leave in family but the love & respect she will get in her new family.it ends with request to the jija ji to let her visit them often. usually it is written in red or green & framed. pragati
