Hi friends, What kind of contraception to use after pregnancy? my friend said condoms may not be enough after pregnancy. is that true? Should I go for pills? Are they safe without any side effects? Please pour in ur experiences..
There is some confusion in your question. After pregnancy means? 1) If you are currently pregnant and looking for contraception. Answer : Contraception is not required. You cannot get pregnant if you are already pregnant. OR 2) If you already have a child and don’t need second one. Answer: Anyone one contraception method (which you have mentioned in your question) is enough. What your friend said is wrong (that is the best method). Pills have side effects.

Doctors generally suggest IUD after first child. Still it is better to consult a doctor, who will suggest various options based on your health and need.
I'd opt for an IUD — it's been the perfect choice for me with the least amount of side effects and the least amount of hassle.
IUD is all good if you maintain it correct(making sure that there is no excess bleeding, infection etc). If you choose (I would suggest too) to go for pills, please note that during the breast feeding, you may need the correct advise from your doctor about the pills as some pills are not suggested for breast feeding moms. You may need to again get your pills reviewed once you stop breast feeding the baby. On the other hand, pills got a positive side effect on many by regulating the monthly cycles. I would suggest, gather as much knowledge as you can and talk to your Dr after that.
I read the suggestions here but I somehow have a bad opinion about IUD as it can cause menstrual problems, perforation in Uterus, etc...It's linked to pelvic inflammatory disease and ectopic pregnancy...I think some women use progesterone only pills as long as they are breastfeeding...Though hormonal pills have their own effects...Condoms are safe but are effective only if used properly so extra care is needed ...Have a discussion with the specialist and use a method according to your needs...Personally I would not agree to use IUD.
