Default Info needed asap

Hi,
I posted this message in the Pune forum.I guess people have viewed my message, however,no one has responded yet. So,i am posting this message again here, hoping that it would work.
A friend of mine is moving from NY to Pune this year along with her husband and 2 young kids. Her husband has just accepted a new position in a firm in Pune. They are originally from US.I told her that I would find out some information about schools etc.
Can you please let me know if there are any good international schools that they could consider for enrolling their son who is 3 1/2.
My friend works for an organization here in NY which is involved in community outreach programs. Is there an organization or university that has such programs?
Is it possible to find Nannys and helpers?

Appreciate your help.Your information would mean a lot.

Hi!

I have lived in Pune for a few years, so I can give you a bit of information. It has several good national level schools (ICSE and CBSE). Academic year begins in June and admissions can be quite competitive (from what I hear!) Local day-care centres and nannies are usually recommended by word of mouth, so probably better achieved upon reaching Pune. Life in Pune is pretty good and comfortable once you get used to the rush hour traffic and local culture. It has several upmarket shopping centres, restaurants due to the influx of the IT economy. As your friend has not lived in India the only possible problem I forsee is the initial period of adjustment to a different culture and environment. However, I am sure she is aware of this aspect. I wish her the best and hope she enjoys her stay in Pune.

Hi There are quite a few good schools around. But it will depend on which area they are planning to put up.

Also i have heard that the fee structure in these schools are steep.

Also, am not sure if they take kids from mid term.
