    Hi Friends,

I need your kind help in discovering the good or rather the best ICSE school in Madurai. I did a bit of online search and come across the following schools:

    Lakshmi
    Jeevana
    VMJ
    Vikaasa
    SDA

I've got mixed response from my madurai friends, some say Lakhsmi (TVS) is good, some say Jeevana and few say VMJ. They even claimed VMJ as the best among the rest. Not quiet sure, we are very much confused and trying to decide.

Could you all please give me your valuable suggestions. We are very much satisfied with the syllables.........but what about the spoken English, we are very keen about it.

Thank you all in advance for your responses.

    Hi Manju,

We are yet to move to Madurai. There were no proper replies on schools in Madurai. I guess, the schools in Madurai are very limited, we can't compare to the International standards that we get in Metro's. TVS has both state board & ICSE.

If you are in TVS nagar, TVS state board must be close by. Cause, TVS ICSE is in Karupayurni....and they do not have CBSE. As far as CBSE schools, currently there is Mahatma CBSE, Adyappan CBSE, Central School, etc. Vellammal CBSE is under construction and Jeevana also. ICSE has plenty of schools.

The tough part is which one to go for. We sort of finally decided with TVS ICSE.

K..its me again..as u had mentioned above...few claim VMJ as the best..yes..it certainly is..when it comes to English fluency,VMJ is a cut above the rest..(i think i'm a fairly good eg.)
and ICSE district toppers have frequently sprouted from VMJ...but try getting a seat in VMJ..its damn hard..u need high recommendation from the mgmt..exceptions are the Politicians' kids, and unusually high talented students..

    Hi,

Thanks for your input, and glad to get a personal comment from you, since you are an alumni of VMJ. I too heard that it's very difficult to secure a seat over there, will try our best.

    HI All,
We are planning to shift to Madurai from Bangalore.

what are the best ICSE schools. I did have a look at some of the school reviews in this forum.

I am looking for further details:

    School which has:
    - student:teacher ratio 12:1
    - Large playground, good extracurricular activities
    - special education wing
    - good Indian culture insistance
    - Good exposure to outside competitions (e.g from chennai or Bangalore)
    - good academic track records, lab facilities.
    - decent school mgmt (no political/caste/religion influences)

Looking forward for help from all of you.

    Regards
    Birundha
