Hi sasikala that is very generous of you to help all us...

I have a question reg divorce? If the husband files for divorce abd wife doesn't want a divorce how will the proceedings go? I guess it becomes a contested divorce?. Can you explain me in detail about divorce proceedures..i read in another forum about the reasons to file for divorce..i wnt to know how the proceedings go in contested divrce?.
I guess in mutual divorce both the parties discuss things clearly and then move forward..it is clsed in 1 yr.
In mutual divorce who shud pay for the legal proceedings if wife is not working.
Also same Q for contested divorce?
I heard that contested divorce takes lot of time and it drains one's energy,money& mental peace?

What are the consequences of contested divorce?

hello flyingsparks,
divorce formalities differs from religion to religion and country to country. without knowing the particular details no correct suggestion can be given. if the situation is in india, for mutual divorce both the parties may share or any one party can bare the expenses depending upon the urgency. in contested divorce, the person who files the case must bare the expenses(here we mean the expense means the cost of the proceedings).
the consequences of contested divorce and mutual divorce are one and the same. both the parties will be separated after divorce and either party cannot claim property right against other except maintenance right by the wife(if the divorced wife is unable to maintain herself).
