What are fennel seeds ? (Any body used fennel seeds to increase breast milk??)

Hi Ladies:
What are fennel seeds? I heard they are used to produce breast milk?
Are fennel seeds nothing but somp (not sure of the spelling)..
Any body used fennel seeds to increase breast milk production??

Yes fennel seeds are somph . It's supposed to increase milk supply.
I eat the spinach of somph seeds. It seems to keep my supply steady..

Hi,
Fennel seeds will induce good digestion and eliminates the excessive water from the body through urination.
While in pregnancy some people might have swelling of legs. If they drink fennel seeds kashayam, the swelling will be reduced. After delivery also I had the swelling of feet and I drank the kashayam 2 times a day. Within a week the swelling is reduced to a great extent. You can feel more urination and see the effect as the reduction of the swelling.
