Default Inf. abt Planned c-section.

Dear Friends,

I'm 34 weeks pregnant now and this is my second baby. Since I had c-section delivery with the first one, my gynec. recommends the same for this pregnancy too and we are almost for tat...

Do any one experienced the same? Pls. share ur experience...

Do they do the c-section before a week of the due-date?

Do we need to suggest the date for c-section, and is it good to go for a Good Day(Nalla Naal)...

Any more inf and ideas are welcome......It'll be helpful for me a lot and for other ilites too....

Thanks,
Pinky...

Pinky,
congrats for your second kid.
The baby comes out when it gets ready. But as yu said already the first one is a C, yes you can go for planned C on any auspicious or good days.Baby grows till 37 weeks. So a week before due date will do for a C.Take enough rest before going for a C-section.
All the best.

Hi Pinky, Since I have no experience with a C section delivery, I will not be able to speak about that, but still just peeped in to see how you are and to wish you good luck...So how is everything at your end? already in the 34th week is it, thats great...so you will have your bundle of joy very soon....how is your first one doing? how is your health?

Take good care of yourself....

Hi Pinky

How r u doing? Its the same in my case & my Doc has asked me to schedule after 37th week & I read in a book that its better to have it on or after 39th week for a scheduled C-section. So I am planning to have it last week of Dec & as u said I plan it according to the nalla naal.

With the help from Mangaii & support from Amitha & other ILites I thought of VBAC & discussed with my OB/GYN but she said since my pelvic is small its impossible for a vaginal birth and also its dangerous for the baby. So atlast Dh & I decided to go ahead with C-section(one more time).

All the Best with ur delivery. When is ur mom coming? Wish her her a safe journey & Nice time with her Grand Kids.

TC.

I am in the same boat as you - first one was a C-section and am 22 weeks along now. Here's what the doctor told me:

1. If your first one was a regular c-section (not the emergency c-section) then you can try VBAC.
2. There is a risk of uterine rupture with VBAC, but I believe the risk is low for low transverse (bikini) incisions
3. The doctor sais that they can wait until I am about 38 weeks to see if I will go into labor on my own
4. Apparently inducing labor may not be very successful for VBAC. The doctor said they'd have to do a C-section if I don't go into labor on my own.

Hi Dhivya,

I'm good, how abt u?

Doc. said c-section should be done 1 week before the due date...tats 37 weeks rit...do they wait till or after 39 week? She asked me to schedule the date by tomm to register in hospital....so have to ask my ILsto look for nalla naal by tomm....

Yes, we even asked abt VBAC, its possible and i even heard from my friends reg. tat....but we are not sure it'll be 100% normal....if it is not we need to go for c-section.....so I don't want to experience the pain of both...so we decided for c-section....ohhh....final one in life......If anyone asks me 'Is this second baby', I tell them ' Second one - last one tooo...'...no more deliveries....

My mom is coming this saturday...she's busy packing n stuff there...Thanks for ur wishes.....tc...

Bye,
Pinky...
