Thumbs down Sweets and Snacks for DIABETIC

Hello to all,

Here I am going to give some Diabetic Sweet (?) recipes.

Dont worry.
Really you can prepare many sweets for Diabetic.

You can add your ideas and enjoy sweets.

Default Malai Peda

Ingredients

1 lt low fat milk
a few saffron strands
2 level teaspoons corn flour
½ teaspoon cardamom powder
4 sachets sugar substitute


For Garnishing

1 teaspoon pistachios, chopped (optional)
a few saffron strands

Method

Keep 4 teaspoons of milk aside and boil the remaining milk in a heavy bottomed pan,
stirring throughout, until it reduces to half.

Warm the saffron in a small vessel, add 4 teaspoons of milk and rub until the saffron
dissolves.

Add to the boiling milk.

Mix the corn flour in the balance 4 teaspoons of milk and add to the boiling mixture.

Continue stirring till the mixture becomes thick and resembles khoya.

Add the cardamom powder and mix well. Allow to cool.

Add the sugar substitute and mix well.

Shape into 7 small balls and serve, garnished saffron or pistachio.

Default Apple Rabadi

Ingredients

3 cups low fat milk
1- 1 ½ cup apple, grated
a pinch nutmeg (jaiphal) powder(optional)
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 sachets sugar substitute


Method

Bring the milk to boil in a heavy bottomed pan and simmer it for 10 to 12 minutes.

Add the grated apple, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder and simmer for

another 5 to 7 minutes.

Cool completely. Add the sugar substitute, mix well and put to chill.

Serve chilled.

Ingredients

1 cup low fat curds
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
a few saffron strands
2 tablespoons low fat milk
4 sachets sugar substitute (equal)

Method

Combine all the ingredients and mix well.

Chill for at least 2 to 3 hours.

Serve chilled.

Great recipes..they would turn real usefull as my mother&father-in-law have diabetics..do you have more easy recipes on store? maybe some western ones?

Smile Kala Jamoon Lassi (Naga plzam)

Ingredients:

Kala jamoon fruits 1/2 cup
Low fat Curd 1/2 sup
Sweetner 1/2 cup

Method:


In a pan boil 1 and a half cup water.
Put kala jamoon in that and close the lid.
Switch off the stove.
Bring it to room temp.
Remove the seed and put the pulp with water and curd, in a mixer grinder.
Grind it well and add sweetner.
For normal persons, add sugar and give.
A very good drink.
If you want chill and serve.

Smile Chocolate Pori Urundai

Ingredients:

Low fat milk 1 cup
Low fat milk powder 1/2 cup
Coco powder 1/4 cup
Sweetner 3/4 cup
Fried wheat flour or dusk / 'thavidu' 1/2 cup
Rice pori 1/2 cup
Venilla essence 4 -5 drops
Butter 2 tea spoon

Method:

Mix milk powder and coco powder in 1/2 cup milk.
Put butter in a kadai and add sweetner. Mix well.
Put the mixed coco mixer in that and again mix well.
Add balance milk and mix well.
Sim the stove and add half the quantity of wheat flour and rice pori.
Mix well and remove from the fire.
When it reaches room temp. make balls out of it and rotate the balls in the balance wheat flour.
Good sweet snack is ready.

Smile Wheat flour Halwa (sheera)

Ingredients

1 cup wheat flour
1 cup sweetner
1 tab sp ghee
1/4 sp cardamom powder
10 - 12 strings saffron

Method:

Pour ghee in a pan and fry wheat flour well.
Add water and let it cook well.
Now add sweetner and switch off the stove.
Add cardamom powder and saffron.
Mix well and serve.

Smile Apple Thiratu pal

Ingredients:

Low fat milk 3 cups
Grated apple 1 cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 sp
Saffrom 10 - 12 string
Sweetner 2 - 3 packets

Method:

Pour milk in a deep container and make 'gova' out of that.
It will take at least 15 min.
When it is thick, add apple and mix well.
Sim the flame and allow apple to cook.
Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Now add sweetner and remove from the fire.
Serve hot or cold.
