Wink Tips

Wherever I have used leftover rice, you can even use leftover poha (beaten rice).

Leftover chappaties can be dried in a oven and crumbs made to use instead of bread.

dear krishnamma,

my recipe for idly upma.

4 to 5 left over idlis, cut into small cubes
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp channa dal
1 medium sized onion cut into small pieces
2 to 3 green chillies
little curry leaves and finely cut coriander leaves
1 small tomato cut finely , optional
2 to 3 tsp oil
3 to 4 tsp idli molagai podi

Add oil in a pan , now add mustard, ural dal , channa dal, curry leaves, onions, tomatoes, chillies, and the idli cubes, now add idli molagai podi, and nicely mix it, if salt is less, you can add a pinch of salt..........now garnish with coriander leaves............idli upma is ready....this is a bit spicy, but very tasty.............

Green Chilies - 3 finely chopped

Method

Cut bread slice into pieces.
Put them in a mixer grinder for a min or two.

Add finely chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
Add chilies and bread rava.
