Hai, I have tried this method but it never came out properly all the corns burnt is there any varity in choosing corn because i noticed in shop they are using smaller corn . can you suggest me Thanks RajalakshmiMBow
Yes Rajalakshmi, They are mostly selling for 'kanji' purpose. So you have to ask the shop keeper and then get the seeds.
Hi Mrs. Krishnamma Thanks for the recipe. But as many said, I too love pop corn, and have tried this method few times. Most of the seeds never pop, and if I keep the stove on for more time for them to pop, the popped ones get burnt. So I bought the ready to make paper packed seeds to pop in MW. That came out moderately well. Not very happy. Rant:crazy Now I plan to buy popcorn machine to pop the corns...he he he he Big Laugh
Hi Shantisubra, I am also having air poping machine. Even in that you will not get good result if you choose wrong seeds. You can try Jolly time , yellow pop seeds to get good results in cooker or pan. And get Jolly time any varity MW popcorns and you will get good results. we love Jolly time popcorn covers ya. I dont know why you got bad results in MW also.Witsend Try these seeds and give me your relsult.
Sweet Pop Corn Ingredients: Dried popcorn seeds 50 gms Any oil to fry 1 – 2 tea spoons Powdered sugar - as per your taste In a flat bottom nonstick pan or in a cooker bottom pour the oil. Fry them well till it starts burst. Cover the lid and sim the fire. You can hear the sound ‘tip tap’ like that. Switch off the stove when the sound stops. Open and transfer it to a big bowl. Sprinkle powdered sugar on it. Mix well..enjoy the Popped Sweet Popcorn.
Caramel Popcorn 2 Ingredients : 50g of popcorn i.e. dried corn 1 tbsp of oil 100 grams of sugar 1 tbsp butter A pinch of salt Method: Take a 7 .5 / 10-liter cooker or a deep pan with correct lid. Fry them well till it starts burst. Cover the lid and sim the fire. You can hear the sound ‘tip tap’ like that. Switch off the stove when the sound stops. Open and transfer the popcorns to a big bowl. In another deep pan, put sugar and keep the gas flame sim. Let the sugar melt. Keep stirring it. Let it become brown and watery. It is called as Caramel. Now put a pinch of salt and butter. Stir well. Now switch off the stove and put all the fried popcorn in this and mix well. Please be sure that the caramel spreads over each and every popcorn. Bring it to room temperature and gently remove the lumps and serve. Not only children, you will also love this ‘caramel popcorn’. Please give a try and give me a feedback. Note: I heard that there are two varieties in popcorn. one is butterfly which I used and another one is round. If you use that round popcorn , this caramel popcorn will come out very attractive to see. But the taste is equally good.
