Does wearing braces really help?

One of my friends is planning to wear braces so that the spaces between her teeth and she can have a beautiful smile. I was wondering does wearing braces really help. I really dunno about this braces thing.

yes wearing braces can help, my younger sis had a problem with her teeth she had gaps and her teeth were out so she wore braces for 2 yrs and now she has a beautiful smile
