Ekdalia Evergreen is a renowned Baroyari Durga Puja of South Kolkata. It takes place near Mandevilla Gardens where the South Point Junior School is located. The landmark nearest to this puja is the new Gariahat Flyover. The nearest metro station to this puja is Kalighat. The puja can be reached easily from Park Circus too.

Hello Piya Well, there are lots of famous baroyari pujo in Kolkata. Good to see that you have brought a topic like this. I will try and write about Maddox Square Pujo. For more than anything else, Maddox Square is famous for its timeless ‘adda’ appeal. It is known for its popularity among the young and the old. It provides an opportunity to sit with friends, gossip and have a gala time. It is famous for for bringing together people, and providing them with an opportunity to make friends, fall in love, or simply sit laidback and enjoy the spirit of Durga Puja over ice-creams, Puchkas, Jhalmuri and endless gossip-sessions Keep posting…. Bye, Debjani
Hi Girls,
There is a huge list of famous Baraoyrai Pujo in Kolkata. And sadly though this is my fourth consecutive year to miss Durga Pujo. I liked the College Sqaure Durga pujo very much. I live near to that place so most of my childhood pujos were spent in Sqaure College Durga pujo and I loved it. When I was in high school, I went to the Maddox Square Durga pujo for the first time and was thrilled. I had gone there with my friends.
I really miss Kolkata very much during the Durga Pujo.
Bye,
Papiya
Singhi Park Sarbojanin is one of the most famous baroyari Durga Pujas of South Kolkata. It takes place at Dover Lane, the exact address being 3, Dover Lane, Kolkata – 700 029. It is very near the Ekdalia Evergreen Puja and is a straight walk down from one pandal to another. Pandal-hoppers either visit Ekdalia Evergreen first and then walk down towards Sighi Park Sarbojanin or they choose to do the reverse. The Puja Committee was established in 1941. Singhi Park Sarbojanin has always been famous for gorgeous idols and a uniquely decorated pandal despite limitations in space. In the year 2007, they have won the “Best Pratima” award from Air India.
We lived in Dhakura during my childhood. The Babubagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja was the Durgapuja nearest to our home. We children used to get amazed by the transformation by which our everyday playground and park suddenly changed into a puja pandal full of crowd.
Babubagan Sarbojanin is one of the most renowned baroyari Durga pujas of South Kolkata. Held in Dhakuria, it is close to Gariahat, Golpark, and Jodhpur Park.
The puja pandal of Babubagan has always been unique and beautiful. Every year the puja committee plans something special to draw crowds. During the last two decades, Babubagan has been one of the major award-winning pujas of South Kolkata.

Since my childhood, Jodhpur Park Sarbojanin has always been my favourite baroyari Durgapuja pandal. The facts that I have spent my childhood in and around Dhakuria and that we have always had relatives in Jodhpur Park had always made it sure that I got to visit this pandal once, if not twice, during the Durgapuja days.
The pandal of Jodhpur Park is always made after famous temples or other structures of India. The idols were, till recently, made by the famous artist, Ramesh Pal. The change of artist in the recent years have not made any dent in the beauty and charm of the idols.

The Baghbazar Sarbojanin Durgotsab is one of the oldest pujas of Kolkata. It is one of the most famous Durgapujas of North Kolkata. This puja has been going on for the last 89 years and has a tradition of synchronizing different ages and ideas of people.
This puja was celebrated for the first time in the year 1919 at Sarkar House located at 55, Baghbazar Street. The place was at the junction of Nebubagan Lane and Baghbazar Street and so the puja was named as Nebubagan Baroyari Durga Puja. It continued to take place at that location for more than three years.

This is a very interesting thread. I have once visited the Durga Puja at Ekdalia. I liked it very much. Your thread gives all ILites a wealth of information about Baroyari Durga Puja. Thanks.
The Mudiali Sangha Durgapuja has risen to fame in the last fifteen years. During this period it has won umpteen glorious awards and has drawn huge crowds throughout the days of Durgapuja.
The major attraction of this puja is the idol. The face of this idol is beautiful and has a different appeal. It evokes all kinds of emotions starting from respect to affection. The traditional look of the Goddess alongwith the gorgeous “Daaker Saaj” or the white thermocol ornaments leaves one spellbound. The combination becomes wonderful because of the bright red backdrop, which Mudiali never misses.
The pandal and its surroundings are beautifully made.

Hello Everyone, Good topic, Piya. The Bhowanipur Sanatan Dharmatsahini Sabha on Balaram Bose Ghat Road in Bhowanipore is the oldest community Durga Puja in Kolkata. The first community pujo was held in the year 1910 year. Though with time and other theme pujos coming, this one has receded from the spotlight, it has never been stopped. I make it a point to visit this pujo every year. This year is its 100th year. Take care, Love, Bye, Dipti
