What Dress To Wear?

Hi All,
You all know what next week ‘chele pokhho’ (the groom’s family) is coming over to my house to see my sister. I am all very excited and so is the rest of my family. But I don’t know what to wear for the ‘event’. My sister will be wearing a saree ofcourse . I don’t want to wear a saree, because it is uncomfortable and unmanageable – I have to do a lot of work. However, my family is insisting me to wear a saree, but I protested saying that they are not coming to see me, so why should I? Anyways, if you have any ideas then do post it here and post it fast.

This ‘chele pokkho’ reminded me when my husband and his family came to see for the first time. Anyways, there is nothing wrong to wear a saree. You can wear a saree. But you have written that you cannot manage a saree and find it uncomfortable then you can settle with salwar kameej. It is not mandatory for the bride-to-be to wear saree. Since saree is our traditional wear, this attire is generally preferred.

And, as you are the sister of the “bride-to-be” then you can wear salwars too. I would suggest you to wear a simple cotton salwar for the event.
