    Aarti Plates

My cousin anna's marriage is coming up. And as a sister, I have to do the vilayadal thattu. I have noticed, that beautiful plates are used for this. I even enquired with some arts classes, they charge like 500 - 2000 for it. I know the basic is with thermocol, if anyone has ideas please share. :)

    Hi Archana,

Few tips on Pooja thali decoration

. Take a thali of your choice, made of steel, gold, silver, brass or any other metal. This thali could be in various shapes like round, oval or any other.

    2. Cover the thali with colorful designer packing paper sheet or a nice bandhni cloth with a golden lace or gota (see pics) and put the puja accessories in the thali.

    3. Take some roli in a small bowl and mix little water in it to make a paste and draw the holy symbols such as the 'Om', the 'Swastika' and the 'Shree' on the thali with the roli paste.

    4. You can cover the thali with the betel leaves, which will make your thali look green, and when you put the colorful puja accessories in the thali, it will look just beautiful.

    5. Cover the puja thali with petals of flowers like marigold, rose or any other. Decorate various designs with single color petals or a combination of different colors.

    6. You can also decorate your puja thali with different rangoli colors.
. Take a thali of your choice, made of steel, gold, silver, brass or any other metal. This thali could be in various shapes like round, oval or any other.

Cloth pieces with traditional Rajasthani print look marvelous on Puja Thalis. You can also give a flashy look to your Puja Thali by embelling it with sequins. Use oil paint to make designs on a clay thali. You can make images of deities or religious symbols like swastika, aum etc too

Use some decorative diwali lamps in the thali to make it more attractive.
Or if you have plain earthern ones, colour it with vibrant colours and add some glitter to it.

Thanks for the explanation on roli. Also, do you people have any innovative ideas on what can be kept in the vilayadal?
