My 1st attempt at crochet !

Hi All,

I was just going through some old photos, and came across a pattern that I had made about 4 years ago when I was trying to learn about crochet from the internet....I wanted to make a "corner bookmark" for my friend who loves to read books....thought it would be a small surprise gift, but I was in for a surprise when the pattern that I tried turned out to be bigger than the one mentioned in the site ! It ended up looking like a barbie doll's dress, when it was supposed to be actually lighter !!!

It was only then that I started understanding the need to have different size hooks & different textures of yarns ! Well well...all part of a learning process I guess...but I really enjoyed making this one, and the joy that I got after seeing a completed one was as if I achieved something very big !! Funny feeling tho !

This picture got me flooded with some old memories....and thot to share those here !!!

And I hope to keep posting more snaps of my crochet work soon....am going to try the "granny bottom bag" which another fellow ILite had posted!!!

this is the pattern that i had referred to years ago ! you can see how light it was in the pattern .....and how thick mine appears...the choice of crochet hook & yarn mattered here!
