here is an idea how to prepare a rakhi.

    MATERIALS NEEDED

    1.different colour threads
2.beads,small toy, kundans, rudraksha satin roses etc(any thing u wish to keep)
    3.gold or silver thread.
    4.scissors to cut the thread
    5.glue

    proceedure:

first take one or two layers of threads of ur desired colours let us take blue and cream
and a gold thread to this combination.
now cut the thread to a desired length
    for kids small length
    for elders big length thread
now take the thread and make it as if we plate our hair and tie the edges.
    like in telugu jadaallika
so this will come as a bracelet.
now take a blue or cream thread any one colour or mix and match and roll it to a pencil or a finished thread reel(finished baramreal roll)number of times and knot it.
now carefully remove it from the roll.
now it comes to a pompom ball.cut the edges and brush it with a brush gently.
it comes like a puffy ball.now attach this to the bracelet and decorate the pompom ball with beads, sequence,or swastik or a ganesh as u wish.
u can also keep the ganesh like for example many of the wedding invitations will be given with a ganaesh silver or gold coated piece on it .u can keep that too.
so now the rakhi is ready

another idea is u can cut a round cardboard and u can also decorate it as u like.
the bracelet process will be the same for every rakhi.

hope u all can understand this.:idea
