Craft Works : Usage of Fevicryl & M seal

I have seen the ads for fevycryl and would like to hear about ideas from other people of what they have used it for and what they made or what they would like to make.

The product seems quite good, but one question i have is that when used on clothes does it come out when washed or do you have to do something to make it permanent.

    Hi,
Fevicryl has come out with so many PRODUCTS..Their fabric colors are really good AND EASY TO HANDLE.I have done soooooo many fabric paintings with fevicryl. one main and important thing in fabric painting is , YOU HAVE TO WASH AND REMOVE THE STARCH. AFTER DRYING, IRON THE CLOTH AND DO THE PAINTING. THEN THE COLORS WILL NOT GO. AFTER SO MANY WASH, SLIGHT FADING OF COLORS WILL BE THERE IN ANY BRAND COLORS.
Only cotton material needs washing to remove the starch.
Try and do in a small piece of cloth. .Plz feel free to ask your doubts.
    all the best,
    v.k.

    hi preeti,
the tips given to u r all fine. another thing u could do is 24 hrs after the paint dries, iron it on the reverse side this helps the paint get fixed permanently to the cloth. after this u can even wash the painted item in the washing machine, nothing will happen!
    :cheers

    Hi,
As Su says it is also important to iron the fabric after 24 hours of painting on the reverse side. This will help the color to fix strong with the fabric. Sorry.
    Thanks Su
    v.k.

Craft Works : Beads Curtain Material in Chennai

    Hi all,

I have been wanting to make a bead-curtain using glass beads. Can someone tell me where I will be able to get glass beads in different shapes, sizes and colours in Chennai? I am aware of Raja stores - but do not know if they sell glass beads. Do let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Anitha

    Nithy,

Thank you. I am a native of Chennai. As of now I cannot travel al the way to Parry's corner due to my pregnancy. So I just wanted to know of any shop where glass beads will be available. That way, I can ask my husband to get the beads. I have heard there is a shop in Adyar......does anybody know about that?

    Regards,
    Anitha
