Default Reduce Weight without fasting.

Introduction:

I have come across lot of people, especially ladies, who struggle to reduce weight. J Generally, increasing is easier than reducing the same. Unknowingly we put on weight over years after marriage. Let us not go into the details why we allow this to happen.
I am in this thread, going to give my experience and certain easy ways which can be followed by all of us to reduce weight gradually.

Even Doctors and Dietitians suggest that one should aim to reduce only 2 to 4 kgs per month only through diet control and exercise and not by any medicine. We should remember the following while we attempt weight reduction.
  • Do not get discouraged during initial days of your attempt if there is no loss of weight and leave your efforts to reduce weight.
  • Always aim at a particular weight of yours some 5 years back as the target weight.
  • Never starve with a view of reducing weight.
  • Have the habit of measuring the calorific value of your food intake and have bench marked value for your daily requirements. Generally for housewives it is suggested to have 1500 k.cals per day.

4. Avoid high calorie dishes like ice creams, chocolates, desserts, sweets etc.,
5. Avoid Banana and Potato.
6. Avoid Junk food like potato chips but take air popped popcorns.
7. Avoid Coconut. (If needed, add raw coconut oil 1 sp. in your preparations)
8. Instead of taking fruit juices take fruits directly which will help you with fiber and with un added sugar.
9. Avoid using direct sugar, direct oil or ghee (generally we South Indians add sesame oil for vathakuzhumbu and ghee for rasam rice).
10. Avoid using refined items like all purpose flour, milled rice.
11. Reduce intake of rice or wheat which is the major source of carbohydrate.

Default Natural tips

As we have seen it is better to have proper diet with exercise. Easy and effective exercise is walking either in the morning or in the night before/after dinner. Have the following natural tips to aid weight loss during this type of exercise.
.

  • Take a spoon of honey with warm water in empty stomach. (OR)
  • Take salt and lemon juice in hot water or lemon tea before walking. (OR)
  • Take at least 6 glass of hot water (as hot as you can) in a day. (Normally we have to drink 10 – 12 glass of water per day.)(OR)
  • Take raw fenugreek seed 10gms in the morning, after walk. Just swallow as raw seeds. This is advised by my dietitian to me. I and my family members taking this regularly for the past 6 months and we noticed lot of benefits.
  • Cut and grind one carrot and mix it with thin butter milk and drink in empty stomach, do this till you feel that you reached the goal. (Some old lady told this to me and I could not find any difference in weight. But any body wants to try means, try and tell me the fb.)

Default Yoga and weight loss

Excess weight gain has become a phenomenon in today's age, when lifestyles have become sedentary, and food more liberal with extra calories. Today our children prefer T.V. over their friends and play, merely a reflection of their parents who also somewhere prefer T.V. over socializing or even over spending time with their children (if they spend some time surely some running around will help burn some calories). These are only a few factors, which have resulted in increasing amount of people with the problem of excess weight or obesity.

Stress, wrong food habits (i.e. irregular timings for food, unhealthy (junk) food), lack of exercise, thyroid problem etc. could be some of the reasons resulting in weight gain.
To lose weight, it is important to do so, not just by doing diets, or exercise programs, which are too tedious, which may yield results but which do not keep you that way. Sometimes after sudden loss of weight the skin sags making one feel worse. The best approach is to lose weight gradually and for good. Yoga offers a good solution to this problem. Yoga tones the body in a uniformed manner, unlike any " weight loss program" which claims to decrease your butts by this much inches and waist by this much, leading to side effects. Yoga can be practiced at any age to keep the body supple.
A plan to reduce weight naturally is:

Contd..

Default Pop Corn diet

Think a diet filled with popcorn is your ticket to weight loss success? This fad diet is filled with lots of things, but mostly bad things, and certainly isn't a ticket to weight loss success.
Popcorn's good points:
Popcorn is high in dietary fiber (0.9 grams per cup).
Hot-air popcorn is ultra low in calories and fat.
Popcorn is available in several varieties, including gourmet, at most markets.
Here are just a few negatives of a diet filled with more Corn than Pop:
Popcorn can contain more calories and fat than potato chips. Though hot-air popped corn contains about 23 calories per cup, when you add butter to your pop, those fat grams and calories take on new heights.
Salted popcorn is extremely high in sodium.
Popcorn by itself is pretty boring. What is the first thing that we do when it gets boring? We search for tasty additives, like butter.
Too much corn blocks the absorption of Vitamin B. Individuals deficient in this Vitamin may experience skin rashes, depression, anemia, memory loss, and low energy levels.
Corn is a very common allergen.
Some individuals are 'corn sensitive' and lack the ability to digest corn. The affected individual may experience skin rashes, hives, gastro upsets, breathing problems, and in rare cases, life threatening anaphylaxis.

Default Pop corn diet

Popcorn CAN be a great contribution to your diet and get you to that magic number on your scales. However, mankind does not live by popcorn alone.

Fun Fact: Popcorn kernels burst up to 30 times their original size when popped.

Important Note: Popcorn is one of the top 5 foods that kids choke on under the age of five. If you have a little one, doctors recommend that the hulls be completely removed and that the white soft kernel be broken into micro pieces.

Diet Bites' Fad Analysis: Incorporate popcorn into your healthy diet. A diet containing one food focus isn't going to meet your nutritional needs and should always be a 'stop, look, listen' before proceeding type event.

Default Ten ways to boost your metabolism and kick-start your weight loss.

1. Sip green tea three times a day. A study from the University of Geneva in

Switzerland found that in addition to caffeine, green tea contains catechin

polyphenols, plant chemicals that may boost metabolism.

2. Use interval training to rev up your workout. Walk for the same amount of

time at the same intensity day in and day out and your body gets as bored

with your workout as you do. Throw it a curveball with interval training, which

involves varying the intensity of your workout throughout your exercise

session. Every five minutes into your walk, jog for one minute. Every five

minutes into your bike ride, shift into a higher gear and pedal hard for a

minute. If you swim, turn on the speed every other lap. You’ll burn more

calories in the same amount of time.
