    hai dear krishnaamma

    Iam very very very much fond of spciay items thatoo mainly items relating to chilli......

    I have a doubt reg. Rakjasthani type green chilli pickle

    Is it ok to add lime when the cooked item is hot.......or afterseasoning and frying chilli in oil and cooling it ....we shld use that lime juice.

    pl clarify.....

    I saw your PM. After frying the green chilies you just add lemon juice in it. and then you can switch off the stove.:droolIt is my favourite dish.

    Tips.. to What to eat?

    Hi,

    Here are some tips about 'what to eat?':idea

    Include two fruits or vegetables in every meal or snack. You'll feel fuller and cut back on calories from other foods.

    Dont skip breadk fast. Eat breakfast. You'll be less likely to overeat later in the day.

    Snack every 4 hours (try oranges, apples, cucumber or carrot).

    Eat at regular intervals. Do not starve. Drinking water helps you, to control hunger. Drink a large glass of ice water 20 minutes before meals. The cold causes your stomach to shrink somewhat, which will make you feel full.

    Have a cookie now and then; but avoid anything heavier for that day.

    Go for the less processed food (whole-wheat bread over doughnuts.)

    Brush your teeth after eating. So you get the 'done' feeling.

    To lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume. This means you need to avoid eating too much food high in fat and carbohydrates, and eat smaller quantities.

    Eat beans: add a handful to salads and soups. You can bake beans and eat. You can bake cauliflower and put some crushed pepper and salt on it. You can even add tomato sause on that. Your snack is ready to eat.:idea

    Take soups: Take soups as much as you can. You can pay a visit to this thread. Low Calories Soups to reduce weight

    Sweeten with spice. Add spices like cinnamon and vanilla to desserts versus sugar.

    Try a new food each day. The flavor will save you from boreing, while doing diet. Add mangoes and pears to salad.

    Go spicy. Get a hot flavor; boost with chilies instead of by overeating. :idea

    If you are going to eat outside, Don't even open the menu. Resist temptation by just ordering the steamed veggies or something else low-fat, like a salad or a soup and salad combo.

    Fiber will help to lower cholesterol and reduce risks of heart disease and diabetes. fiber can be found in many types of foods. Here are some suggestions to improve your fiber intake.

    Eat at least 4.5 cups of fruits and vegetables each day. Some foods that are high in fiber are: apples, oranges, berries, pears, broccoli, carrots, beans, green peas and cauliflower.
    Eat whole grain or whole wheat bread instead of white, and substitute brown rice for white rice.
    Include bran muffins, oatmeal and multi-grain cereals in your diet. Anything whole wheat or whole grain should be a good source of fiber.
    Eat a bran cereal for breakfast -- but check the label to make sure it contains plenty of fiber.
    Try mixing wheat bran with other foods, particularly in dishes that will be baked.
    Eat cooked beans frequently.

    Quick-cooking oats are cut into thinner pieces, thus cook faster. Women might also consider adding a daily does of enriched oats to their diets to reduce heart-disease risk with the added benefit of providing needed folic acid.

    Eating 1.5 cups of cooked oatmeal provides 4.5 grams of fiber — enough to lower your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad" cholesterol. To mix it up a little, try oat bran or cold cereal made with oatmeal or oat bran. Soluble fiber -- from beans, some fruits and even coffee -- may help lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or "bad" cholesterol and blood sugar and may help protect against heart attack and stroke; according to Mayo Clinic. They proposed that Oats, whether as one-half cup of oatmeal or oat bran or as an ounce of granola, are good for about 1 gram of soluble fiber. For people with high blood cholesterol, nutrition experts recommend 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal (1/2 cup uncooked) daily to help reduce blood cholesterol.

    Some tips to increase your 'water' intake.

    There are a variety of reasons to drink plenty of water each day. Adequate water intake prevents dehydration, cleans out the body, and promotes healing processes.You've probably heard the rule-drink eight, 8-ounce glasses of water per day-but the amount of water a person needs varies depending on his or her weight and activity level. :ideaA better way to determine your recommended water intake is to divide your weight (in pounds) by two. The resulting number is the number of ounces of water you need each day.
    • Carry water with you everywhere you go in a bottle or other container.
    • Keep a glass or cup of water next to you whenever you'll be sitting down for a long time.
    • Set alram in you watch or cell phone, that beeps at the beginning of each hour. So that you can drink one tumbler of water with out fail.
    • If you really can't stand the taste of your water, try adding a tiny bit of fruit juice or a squeeze of lemon or lime--just enough to slightly change the taste.
    • Or you can boil the water with cumin seeds and drink that water.
    • If you like, you can drink chill water or if you like hot water you can drink hot water.
    • Drinking a full glass of water first thing in the morning helps wake the body up.
    • Water helps you look good. By flushing out toxins and impurities, water can make your skin clearer, smoother and younger looking.

    • It has recently been proven that tea (with out milk) is as good as or even healthier than water and can extend one's life by a few years.:idea I think that is why here in Saudi they drink lot of black tea or black coffee with the flavour of cardamom.
