    Hi All,

My 5 year old son is overweight. What type of diet would be safe for him.

    Hi Reema,

You need to be careful about the type of diet that you put your son on, as he is growing.

The main thing to do is to avoid any fatty junk food such as chips, fries, and all unhealthy foods. Give him plenty of fruits and vegetables. During snack time, offer him fruits as a healthy alternative. Also see that he is out playing rather than sitting home watching the TV.

Gradually his weight should decrease. There is no need to introduce any special type of diet but you need to cut out junk food.

    Hope this helps.

    Love, Riya :thumbsup
