Welcome Prathiba,

Please post your diet on daily basis. Drinks lots of water..add more salads in your diet.

But I would say start slowly as you are still nursing. please Don't rush yourself, take baby steps and watch what you eat..as it my effect your LO too..

Just cut down your meals into 4-6 mini meals..in between have lots of HOT water..have more fruits and veggies. If possible eat rice once in a day preferably at lunch and start having roti at night. Finish of your dinner before 7 PM. Please see the below. Try to include the below food in your diet and gradually cut down. Don't rush yourself as you have LO with 3 months..I would say before you go on diet wait until your LO is 5 months old. Meanwhile try having healthy food.

How to increase mother's milk supply NATURALLY while nursing



Breakfast: Sprouts which have good protiens.
2 handfuls of soaked groundnuts.
one or 2 fruits.


Lunch:
unpolised rice( it contains B complex vitamins) with green leaves curry,dal and one more vegetable curry.
one handful of boiled soya beans.


One glass citrus fruit juice at 4 or 5pm


Dinner:
unpolished rice or pulka with more curry.

Hello All,

I have been reading your posts from a long time and am very very impressed with the motivation that you all possess.

My biggest problem is laziness and lack of motivation.I am a nursing mother of a 9 month old baby and need to loose a lot of weight.I wish to join this group with the hope that you can help me help myself :).Based on your experience would you be able to chart out a regime for me with regards to diet and exrecise?

I as a practicing doctor was amused by the discussion about weight loss.It is good to know how many of us want to lose weight though no one listens when we advise them not to gain weight in the first place.
Once you have gained weight and want to lose it.you certainly can.
You must understand that women gain weight during pregnancy which is natural.It is to prepare them to feed the baby later.
But what happens after that,i am writing this in Indian context,is that the new mother is fed all the fattening foods and not to do anything,forget regular exercise
Once you want and have decided to lose it,remember,you can not lose weight by eating something but by not eating so many things!
As weight loss program has to be individualized,you should consult a dietitian as the diet varies according to your age,weight,amount of work you do so on and so forth,and if you don't get to talk to a dietitian go to your trusted family physician and they can certainly guide you.
Beware,weight loss methods can never be generalized.

Dear ALPA,

Nice to see your responses for our IL buddies.

I started taking apple cider vinegar.Whenever I take it I'm not feeling hungry at all for a long time.Is it normal?Is it good? I'm planning to shed 15 kgs.

Please help me out.
This is my diet.Please advise if something needs to be changed.

Morning
1 apple
1/2 cup of tea with 1 tbsp Sugar

Lunch
1 cup of rice
Dhal/curry
veggies

Evening
1/2 cup of tea with 1 tbsp sugar

Night
4 idlis/chutney/sambhar or 3 dosa

That's it.I'm not a snack eater.

Please help me out.I want to loose as early as possible.

Dear Kirthi,

ifyou have gym in the office go fo it use it to the maximum, go at lunch hours and what you can do is an hour before going to gym have a fuit or a banana it will help you and after excise have salad do not eat immediately.

you are lucky that you ahve gym in the office and ask the trainer to make a programme for you and tell him you wnat to looseweight andset a goal fo your weight loss like in 3mnths you have to loose at least 4 kilos. like that and drink water as the others have said do not worry about others say.

you need to be focused

dear hat and all my friends here,

sorry could be here yesterday was busy. on tue had lunch with bf, it was so heavy i had veg capsicum sandwich on brown bread with chips i just wanted to have it and god it was so heavy.so in the evening i had only soup and yesterday i had only boiled food salad soup and water and a handful of peanuts.

i realised that i cannot eat too heavy food these days, so i do eat but the next day i take it light,

Hi,
I dint post my diet from a long time. I ll try to post daily now onwards. My todays diet was like this
Went to gym at 7.30 am
3 glass hot water at 9 am
bran cereal at 10.30 am
3 chapti with cabbag curry and dal at 1 pm
1 cup tea at 4.30 pm
leftover cabbage curry with curd at 6 pm
sweet daliya at 6.30 pm
fresh fruit juice at 9 pm
Generally I have fresh fruits but this time I got seeded grapes so I took juice out of them otherwise we were not able to use them.

Pls review my diet and suggestions and advices are always welcome

Dear Preets,

welcome here. remember that you carried a child in yourwomb for9mnth and put on weight so it will take time to reduce tht weight and you need to take one step at a time.

1. you need to discipline yourself
2.improve your eating habits
3. Exercise even if it is 30mis early morning brisk walk around the block.
4. take hot water when you wake up in hte morning.
5.start to post your diet plan here.

Dear priya suresh,

Avoid taking the cider vinegar, try to reduce your weight naturally.
1.your breakfst is too light, have glass of hotwaterwhen you wake up, then for your
breakfast have it heavy like fruits, then oats then something else.
2. lunch have chappati and little rice and curry.
3. an hourbefore lunch have your salad it iwll fill you up.
4. 3 hours after lunch have a fruit like apple.
5. dinner have light like soup and then aftran hour have an apple

try to drink 2 litres of hot water throughout the day and if you fell like snacking have a handful of peanuts, include a lot ofgreens in you diet

Most important execise and be focused and do not give up.

Dear perfectly_perfect,

avoid curds in the evening, have a bowl of home made veggie soup, it will fill you up, have curds during the day, include more salads and fruits in your diet, also drink hot water though out the day 2litres.

Hi Dhivyasri,

Even i have read so many magazines. U will really go mad on seeing all those articles. In some article I read that you shouldn't even consume milk, as human doesn't have the capacity to digest cow's milk!!!!
If you read 4 or 5 magazines you have to come to a conclusion that u cant consume any kind of food. Yes, I do agree, they publish some exercise, yoga posts etc.. Following that amone you can never reduce weight.
This forum is really really motivating. Just believe me, its just been 3 days I m following the diet tips that these people shared here. I m really feeling very lite. And I m sure i can continue this for ever.
