abt brown basmati rice

i read some where tht brown rice is good to health and have lots of fiber

in it....and i bought brown basmati rice

is this brown basmati rice helpful in weight loss ???

Brown rice is really good. It contains very less carbs when compared to white rice. I am using it since last 1 year. Did you get it in Indian store or any American store? If American, can you say me where did you get it from?

I am yet to try the brown rice, though I too hv heard its health benefits.

I did not try brown basmathi rice but I am eating the normal brown rice from 1 yr which is thicker than normal white rice and the lenght is the same..Brown rice contains less carbo.. and good % of proteins n with excellent dietary fiber..yes,it reduces ur weight if U eat it regularly especially very useful when u on diet..and I had benefitted a lot by it like in my wt reduction..

It also contains 67% of the vitamin B3, 80% of the vitamin B1, 90% of the vitamin B6, half of the manganese, half of the phosphorus, 60% of the iron, and all of the dietary fiber and essential fatty acids.

Relieve Constipation
Prevention of Asthma
reduces the possibility of heart diseases,
helps avoid abrupt spikes in sugar levels,
helps digestion
reduces constipation
Nowadays it is found that it reduces colon cancer etc

Coming to the taste may be when u eat for the first ur toungue may feel fatty grains aand u have more work for the tooth..But I say I love the taste and it goes well with dal mix rice or veg mix or veg pulav or aanything..

I too use brown basmati rice sometimes, but I don't find any difference it tastes the same for me.
But it is good for health that is for sure.

I live in europe so I dont have any idea abt the stores in U.S but Iam sure that u will definately get in any U.S super markets..I think any brand is fine if it has less carbo and more proteins at least more than normal rice..
