Hi Brindha:

Logically, any exercise is good enough for reducing inches of the body. However, I am not so sure about specific exercises for reducing specific parts of the body.

Having said that, skipping as an exercise is very good since the muscles of both arms and legs are worked out and it will be intense since several muscle groups of the body are being worked out simultaneously. But watch out your knees. If you had any previous knee injuries be careful.

Like skipping, swimming is also a good exercise since many muscle groups are used. The advantage of swimming is that the amount of injury is minimal and the effect of exercise is gentle on the body.

Hope this helps.

Dear Brinda,

Skipping is just another form cardio. It helps if you can sustain skipping for more than 20 minutes, at least. It's better to do some other form of cardio, as skipping not done properly can be bad for your knee. But, skipping really works, if you do it safely ... Please find below the simple way to do skipping without injury ... hope this helps you ...
