| Hi friends, I hope some of you might have faced this problem. In the process of losing weight i am weighting myself more often like almost alternate days on the digital scale.One day i am like 164 lbs wow i feel i lost 2 lbs....and the other day I am like 166.7 lbs...:( I am not sure whats going on with my weight.why am i not weighing the same always.I am following the same schedule in my diet and exercise.Sometimes its very disappointing. My hubby too is in the process of weight loss he is going low or remaining the same weight but not going up. I feel very upset because we eat the same food... Can you explain me this? Sudhira ![]() |

| Hi Sudhira, First of all, I'd advise u not to weigh urself everyday. I ahve heard many complaints abt. not weighing the same everyday! Each of our metabolic rate varies, and the rate at which each one drops weight also varies. The men tend to lose weight faster than women. So let that not be a comparison for u. Just keep at ur diet and exercise, and do not get obsessed by it, and u will find how easier it is to lose weight! When ever I ahve obsessed abt. it, it does become difficult, and when i dont i see the weight dropping more effectively! |

| Dear, Yeah, it used to happen and also it is expected to see plus or minus of half pound as machine error.... Among other factors, our water retention capacity is the major factor for higher weight reading. If we eat more of salty things for few days in spite of taking the same calorie every day, we might see our weight at higher end. Then comes the time of weighing. During early morning after leaving bed, it is expected that we will see a lower reading. In the morning time, we were in dehydrated state and so, its not a good time to check the weight. The best time is aroung late afternoon....when we have hydrated enough. So, weighing urself at different time can show these variable reading. Now, another case in females, is hormonal changes, around period, we get a little higher wt than other times as our body retains a little more water during that period. On lighter note, our food can also show variation in wt on a short run.....after a diet with lettuce....more veggie.....we will see higher wt than in a diet of two chicken pieces when caloriewise its just the reverse... So, don't get upset abt these issues.....weigh urself on regular basis at a particular time only...... Regards.

| hey friends First let me thank you all for the reply. Yeh i agree that I should not compare with my hubby. Can you tell me which is the best time to see your weight and how? May be I am not doing that properly. I am drinking 2 1/2 liters of water and almost stopped taking rice. Evening 3 chapathies and curry. Daily burning 310 calories of weight at the gym.. I think I have to be coming down.... ![]() sudhira |

| Hi Sudhirakumar, Don't worry ! Be happy ! Having said that, do you weigh yourself at the same time everyday/everyother day? Our body's weight will slightly differ throughout the entire day. The best time to check weight will be in the morning, before you have breakfast, but after going to bathroom (you know the big job) . ![]() Also, please don't pressurise yourself by checking weight everyday. | Hi All, Weight does vary during different times of the day, for various reasons. We cannot compare our weight with our hubby's because men have high muscle weight and they can burn fat easily, it is their hormones that help them build muscles easily when they work out. I agree during our periods we have more water retention in our bodies. Even when you workout initially you see that you tend to gain weight, that is healthy weight i mean building muscle. I normally look at the way my clothes fit me, that gives me a idea whether I am losing weight or gaining. -Vidya |

| Dear sudhirakumar Keep one or two sets of your old dress which you couldnt wear and try it out after your exercise and diet session that is after one or two weeks sure you would be able to wear it. This is because the flabs have converted into muscles. Muscles have more weight than fat. You will sure look slimmer and for sure you would be able to wear those tight dresses comfortably now.
