In school and college days, I used cycle daily. Almost 7 km per day. 60 min in a day, 30 min for going and 30 min for coming. Now, it is scooter or car for my movement in the last ten years. To work or to purchase something for house.

For walking , one has to take out time, specially. If cycling is taken in, as a routine act of the day, it will be good. I live in a protected colony. Here cycling in even night hours is safe. Safe, for women and children also. Outside the colony, there is a Big-Bazaar mall. It remains open till 10.30 pm. Colony roads are not traffic congested. Before dinner, when there is no company for walking, I do cycling.

Three rounds in colony. Then, to Big-Bazaar, buying things for next day. Coming to home is around 30 min of cycling, in total.

    30 minutes ! Day’s work out is over !

This week, I made a decision. Any distance less than 4 km, I will go by cycle. No scooter, No car. Only for a place more than 4 km, scooter or car.

There is a ‘Running Club’. There is a ‘Swimming Club’. I don’t find a ‘Cycling Club’ here. Hence, this thread :

If you do cycling, post your cycling in this thread. The cycling I do , I will post here.

I wish I find cycling companions here. At least a few. Till then, I will post mine, alone :

If you measure the distance and speed of cycling by apps like MapYourRun /RunKeeper, post that details also.

For my overweight of 9 kg, I get knee joints pain in walking. With knee pain, more walking gives more pain. Such days, I find cycling very helpful.

Those who are overweight by 9 kg, like that, can try cycling, on days of knee joints' pain. No knee pain in cycling.

I'm pretty sure after my race I'll be joining this thread. My buddy is an avid cyclist herself and is pushing me to buy a bike and start riding with her. I'm just wanting to get my lazy self into the weigh groom at the gym :)
