    @Ammu28 your weight seems to be ok. You do weights (1-2 kg) and yoga that will give definition to your body

    Guys are spending too much money and energy to loose weight why you wish to increase your weight.

    Being lean will be good and healthy, After marriage and once you crossed 35 you will gain weight. Until that be happy.


    having more protein foods, curd with sugar, chocolate & ice cream will increase your weight.

    5'3'' means 159 cm. For a height of 159 cm an Indian woman should be within 47 kg to 57 kg.

    Your weight of 48 kg falls within the normal range only.

    You are technically, NOT UNDERWEIGHT. People around may say, you are too slim.

    But the fact is, you are NORMAL.

    Dear Ammu,

    I understand your concern.

    BMI is an outdated measure of health. You could be falling in the 'normal' weight range for your height, but probably you lack appropriate amount of muscle mass, and that might be giving you that lanky look.

    Firstly I suggest you access your body fat levels, such machines are available in health centres, malls etc. This will enable you to know, where exactly you are exactly lacking, and what you need to work on.

    I suggest you work out regularly in the gym and build some muscle mass, together with regular cardio.

    You can add some healthy fats to your diet, such as

    1) Cheese
    2) Dates with ghee
    3) Dry fruits
    4) Peanuts
    5) Paneer
    6) Cow's ghee

    All these in moderation will nourish your body, please don't be tempted to add any unhealthy processed food such as biscuits, chocolates and ice cream in your diet.
    This will only ruin your health.

    follow a low fat, low carb and high protein diet, do to a dietician and get a diet chart prepared for u, i too am of the same height n weight abt 44-45 only but the protein intake ensures u get to ur set weight,

    if ur concern is abt ppl telling u ohh u are so thin it is coz of the old indian belief system that fat is healthy
