Feb 2014 Weightloss Challenges

    Dear IL'ites,

    February is a great month to get started in loosing weight. Winter is getting over, so there is no more excuse that, "Oh, it's so cold and I will do it tomorrow". The key idea is to start small and keep it consistent.

    Our weight loss challenges are designed to be small things that you can do everyday. Pick a challenge that resonates with you and complete it everyday. Then go to the respective challenge thread and make your update - daily. It is an amazing feeling of accomplishment to complete the challenge successfully.

    It takes just 66 days for a behavior to become a habit i.e we do it without thinking about it consciously. How cool would it be if we go to gym without thinking about it. Just as we wake up and brush our teeth.

    Hi , count me in for both challenges too.

    I was thinking of one more challenge. Can we substitute one meal (lunch/dinner ) with a fruit and vegetable diet ? For example, we pick a day , say Thursday and on this day we skip one meal- b/fast , lunch or dinner and instead just have fruits and vegies.

    We could also post the special combination we prepared for this meal. It can be our regular sabzi's ( minus the roti and rice) or we can come up with interesting combinations of salads and stir fry .

    Do you think this might work ??

    Destini,

    I was thinking of adding some challenge regarding diet. Was thinking of keeping it a bit more broad, allowing people more flexibility. Something like

    "7 days without fried foods or simple sugars"

    Would that work?
