Question Yoga without instructor - Is it good?

I ve started to practive YOGA of my own without any instructor. Is is good ?
I do it with the assistance of a book, written by a reputed author.
What are the DOs and DON'Ts for Yoga Beginners.
I already have a history of back pain. Is there any special yoga to cure back pain without side effects.

Orange.

Orange - Since you have been having back pains, it is better that you go to a Yoga teacher. There are some asanas which are not to be done by people with back pains. I do not know which one. When I was going for Yoga classes, there was a lady with similar problems and the teacher would modify some asanas for her.

orange,

its better you learn Yoga under some Yoga teacher, since you are already suffering from back pain. we dont how severe is you back ache??????????????
so please never try anything on your own
you can try those simple asanas like sukhasana. even the breathing has to be done according to your pace.
you tell me where you stay in chennai. i can give you the addresses, if you are interested to know.

each body metabolism is different. so we have to modity those asanas according to each person.

dear latha,

we always say aspirants to practise pranayam and yoga in the mornings, but due to lack of time for all of us we do it to our convenience, so there should be atleast 3-4 hrs gap between your food intake and exercise.

say when you take your food at 12.30 or 1 in the noon you can do exercise at about 4.30 or 5pm in the evening..

any other doubts you always to enquire.

what ever knowledge i have in yoga i ll surely let you know.

bye
take care
padma

hi orange,

just now saw your post. Please don't practise yoga without a teacher. It is not advicable. If you practise seeing a book, you may go wrong somewhere..Please go to some classes and learn correctly from a teacher.

all the best

cheers
