Fitness Exercises for Winter

    When the weather turns cold, you do not have to break the exercise routine. In fact, it is essential that you keep yourself active with various exercises that will keep you flexible, alert and energetic. Here, are five calorie-burning exercises that will help you stay in shape even in winter!


    Pilates:
    This is an indoor exercise and is a great way to strengthen your core. You may either use a DVD or take a class, to get maximum flexibility, strengthening and toning the muscles. The movements are controlled, slow and deliberate.


    Jump Rope:
    This inexpensive yet intensive exercise will help you burn calories in a short amount of time. Wearing a good and strong pair of shoes is important since jumping may put strain on the legs. You can do this exercise even when you travel.


    Yoga:
    Yoga not only strengthens the muscles through some intensive poses, but also helps in relaxation and toning of the muscles.


    Cycling:
    You can cycle either indoor or outdoor to quickly burn calories. It also firms up the thighs, legs and rear. Cycling is an intense cardio workout that can burn up to 400 to 600 calories per hour.


    Running:
    Do not let winter hamper your fitness routine. Cover yourself sufficiently with warm clothes and go running. If you are hesitant to go out, then run on the treadmill. Moderate running of about 5mph can burn up to 470 calories per hour.


    Stay healthy and fit this winter!
