    Hi Ladies,

    Thank you for those who joined the Zumba challenge with me.
    It is getting over tomorrow and it is time for a new challenge.

    The new challenge is for two months - starting 1st November till December end or till Christmas if some of us are going for holidays

    The details follow in the coming threads.

    The plan is to vary the exercises and workout routines to do with the boredom and the change in workouts helps break plateau.

    So come on Ladies, lets do it!!!

    From Oct 20 to November 1st, Lets use this time for small exercises like walking or some stretching to prepare the body for the upcoming challenge.

    And use this 10 days to put together the pieces needed like

    Downloading of DVDs
    saving youtube links to favorites
    timing factor for everyday workouts
    etc..

    We all workout hard to see the scales moving down. But many of us have realised that scale numbers arent the only factor. The factors to consider are:

    1. Ideal weight for our height and frame
    2. Body Mass Index
    3. Most important is Fat Percentage in our body - basically for an average person it should be between 25-31%
    4. Measurements


    Do the following if possible before the challenge starts:
    1. Get the height, weight, BMI, fat percentage checked. Make a note of it with the date taken

    (Generally here I have seen machines at pharmacies which measure, many gyms have this too)
    2. Take your measurements: hips, waist, thighs, neck, arms and make a note of it with date
    3. Make a note of what dress size fits you (let it be any size measurement)

    After the challenge ends, measure all the above and see the difference. That is the real reward

    Motivational Factors

    Let us motivate by reporting every day of the workouts and weekly weight and inch loss.

    And the participant who has been regular in the workouts will be given a virtual crown for that week :)

    I am not taking into consideration weight loss as a factor for success as many of us will hit plateaus, so that would discourage.

    This challenge is not about weight loss, but about getting fitter and healthier.

    What to eat and what not to eat

    This is going to be our main topic of conversation - Diet!!

    LEt us give a new meaning to this word - Diet means eating everything in moderation and not thinking that food is bad for our body.

    Food is needed and fat is also essential - what type of Fat is what that counts
    So do NOT feel guilty for the weekend Pizzas or dinners.

    What is needed is balance. Average out to 1500 calories per day and we should be good.

    If you have over eaten on a saturday, give the stomach a rest by having just soups on sunday.

    Do not make radical changes that will affect family routine. Make sure one meal is eaten along with the family. Rice eaters - do not feel guilty about having rice at night.
    Have them but cut back on the quantity and fill yourself up with salads or soups before the main course.

    This way the journey can be made smooth and not having to have us thinking over calories all the time
    and occassionaly do treat yourself to a choclate nibbele

    Thanks for starting this thread . I would like to join . I am thinking to try a mix of [ JM Ripped in 30(have to see video and see if I can do this , JM BFBM and Leslie as usual] . Will prepare my plan and share it with you all .Going on a vacation for 10 days by this weekend . Lets have fun the next 2 months . Lets not stress too much on weight loss , inch loss . We will enjoy our workouts . How about creating an online spreadsheet for this challenge ?
