Top Ear earrings

I was in Bangalore recently and saw these lovely vertical earrings hanging from the absolute top part of the ear of lots of women here.

The earring is like a barbell with a bunch of colorful stones dangling from the bottom.

I am not a Kannadiga, so I dont have such a piercing; but would absolutely want to have one.

What are these earrings called ?

Where can I buy one [either Bangalore or online ] ?

Anyone amongst us already has such a piercing ?

You can get them in any jewwellery store.

Thank you Pandu for your reply. This earring seems confined to Karnataka. Is the top ear piercing traditional in Karnataka ?

You are welcome, i have seen these mostly in North part of karnataka and i guess even in maharashtra.

Even in Bangalore, you fine many of then having this.

Hi,

Bugudi was an ornament of rural folk. Now it is the latest hip-hop fashion. I see it is worn by jean clad girls !! I even a saw a man of around 25 yrs old wearing that in one ear !
Infact I also wanted to get that piercing. (Presently I have three in line from earlobes in each ear) But my husband said he is not sure it would look nice. So I have temporarily dropped the idea. I am very impulsive. Who knows, I may go and get it done tomorrow!!

I too want to get mine pierced but am afraid of the pain. Rathi let me know once you do yours - where, when, how and how much was the pain

It won't pain at all, just as if a ant bit you something like that.
