Hello Indus Ladies,

I wanted all of you to have a look at this link. I have recently joined there as a volunteer and they are in need of donations and sponsors. Kindly go through their website.

Sponsoring:
Breakfast – 1500/-, 2000/-, 3000/- per meal, per day.

Lunch/Dinner – 2000/-, 2500/-, 3500/-, 4500/- per meal, per day. Endowment policy is one of the schemes wherein the donations are accepted in multiples of Rs.1000/-. The accrued interest would be used for any specific choice of meals on the specified day of donor’s choice.

Donation for construction & maintenance activities- Rs.5000/- and multiples accepted.
Sponsoring / distance adaptation of a child: Rs.7800/- per annum, covering entire cost of education and upkeep.

Provision for providing milk: Donor can donate a cow or Rs.10000/- towards purchase of cow. Milk will be served to all children.

Donation in kind such as tape recorders, kitchen vessels, office furniture’s & fixtures, Braille equipment, mobility devises. Computers, sports & games equipment, vocational training equipment and school uniform accepted.

General donations would be utilized on a need based basis on any of the above specified activity.


SRMAB is a registered organization by the state & central government.
All donations are exempted under 80G & 35AC of Income tax act.
Donations / Cheques can be sent to / on Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind. Or directly to State Bank of India, 2nd Block Jayanagar Branch, South End circle, Bangalore-560 011, Karnataka, India. A/c # 10386335535, Wire transfer/SWIFT # SBININBB 423.

I have gone through the link given by you. Really great help they are rendering to the needy people. I am really glad to know that you have become the volunteer in that institution. Wish you all the best.

I just need one small clarification. If we want to sponsor lunch on any function/ festival day, i.e. birthday or anniversary, whether they will accept that. If so, I would like to know how much we have to pay to sponsor for lunch alongwith sweet.

Please do let me know. Every year for my DDs birthday, I used to send to one of the Ashrams in Chennai. Morning when I read your post in "Coffee Morning" I thought of asking this to you. Thank GOD, you have opened a new thread for this.

What type of volunteering are you doing there and how many hours in a week do you put for volunteering?

That is so nice of you ....I'm going daily morning to teach english and computer
evenings i spent with them by reading newspaper or some books up to 8 pm.

They look for other contributions also.

Thanks for the list. Whether they have any format or check list. If so, is it possible to send it to my email ID? Otherwise, if we just fill the details in a plain paper and attach it alongwith the DD, is that enough? Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

They will accept the items also. You need to send your address details and you can send the items.
